Tesla vehicles are very reliable, but when you’re on the road, emergencies can happen. For that reason, it’s a really good idea to have the EVANNEX Roadside Assistance Kit stored permanently in the frunk or trunk. The kit contains a wide variety of items you might need to handle emergency situations—flat tires (Tesla vehicles do not have spare tires), a breakdown on the road, or some other unforeseen event. Packaged in an attractive and durable carry-case, the EVANNEX Roadside Assistance Kit will always be there for you when you most need it. Please see the "Description" tab below to view the included items.
EVANNEX Roadside Assistance Kit contains everything you’ll need to handle the small emergencies—flat tires (Tesla vehicles do not have spare tires), a breakdown on the road, or some other unforeseen event. Packaged in a durable carry-case, the EVANNEX Roadside Assistance Kit is an all-in-one solution that eliminates the need to search for the emergency item you’ll need.
The Roadside Emergency Kit contains the following items that are must-haves for any vehicle trunk:
12V air compressor—can be used to re-inflate a tire with a slow leak. The air compressor plugs directly into the 12V socket in your vehicle.
Reflective safety triangle—to warn oncoming traffic that you’re on the side of the road
Tire repair kit—containing a rasp tool, a split-eye needle tool, repair strings and rubber cement that can be used to repair small punctures (1/4 inch or smaller) that might occur in the tire tread. (Note: Tesla vehicles do not have spare tires)
First aid kit—for small scraps and cuts
Screw driver set—with bits that can come in handy if you have to make a quick repair
Duct tape—the universal go-to fastener when emergency repairs are required
Black electric tape—important if a stray wire has frayed or needs to be spliced
Poncho—to keep you dry if the weather is bad, but you still have to attend to your vehicle outside
Blanket—to keep you warm in a cold weather emergency or to use as a ground barrier that keeps your clothes clean and acts as a cushion for your knees if you have to need to kneel to make a repair.
Flashlight and batteries—to illuminate and assist you at dawn, dusk, or nighttime
Nitrile gloves—to keep your hands clean if you have to make a messy repair
Bungee cord—for emergency fastening needs
In addition to these items, the zippered carry case has enough room to store additional items that you feel might be useful for your driving needs.
What’s the overall purpose of the EVANNEX Roadside Assistance Kit for Tesla owners?
To provide an easily-stored and easily accessible tool and supplies kit that contains the things you’ll need to help with most common roadside events. The Roadside Assistance Kit can be stored in either the frunk or the trunk of your Tesla vehicle.
Does the kit have emergency triangles to warn on-coming traffic that my Tesla is on the side of the road?
Yes. But be absolutely sure you pull your vehicle off the roadway and as far to the side as is possible. The triangles will help warn traffic of your presence, but safety must be your primary concern when a roadside event occurs.
Are the emergency triangles reflective at night?
Why do you provide an air compressor? After all, if I get a flat tire, I can use my spare, right?
Wrong! Tesla vehicles do not come with a spare tire. Our air compressor can be used to re-inflate a tire with a slow leak. It also comes in handy when you have to re-inflate a tire that has lost some air.
What powers the air compressor that is provided as part of kit?
The 12V compressor is powered by attaching it to the 12V outlet inside your vehicle. The 12V outlet can be found at the base of the center tower for Model S and Model X and inside and toward the rear of the center console for Model 3. The combined length of the power cord plus compressor air hose is long enough to reach each of the outside wheels.
Can the compressor be used in a roadside situation to re-inflate a tire with a slow leak?
Yes. However, please note that the compressor should only be run for between 7 – 8 minutes before is is allowed to cool. Failure to do so may result in damage to the compressor that is NOT covered under product warranty. In addition, be absolutely sure to have the slow leak repaired as soon as possible.
Can the small 12V air compressor provided as part of the kit be used to fill a tire when my tire pressure management system (TPMS) indicates that it has become under-inflated?
Yes. However, please note that the compressor should only be run for between 7 – 8 minutes before is is allowed to cool. Failure to do so may result in damage to the compressor that is NOT covered under product warranty.
You mentioned that the air compressor should be run for no more than 7 – 8 minutes. Why is that?
Like all small compressors, the compression cylinder’s temperature rises as it is used. After 7 – 8 minutes, it must be allowed to cool for 5 to 10 minutes.
Can I repair a flat tire caused by a puncture using the tools provided with the kit?
When a tire deflates there can be many causes. If the tire has a small and simple puncture (e.g., caused by a small nail) on the bottom of the tread, the Tubeless Tire Repair Kit provided as part of the RAK can be used. However, if the sidewall is cut or a more serious puncture occurs, repair must be done by a professional. In all situations safety must be your primary concern. DO NOT under any circumstances, try to repair a flat tire while the tire remains attached to your vehicle.
Can the small 12V air compressor provided as part of the kit be used to to inflate a beachball or basketball/football/soccer ball?
Yes. Specialized inflation accessoires are provided. However, please note that the compressor should only be run for between 7 – 8 minutes before is is allowed to cool. Failure to do so may result in damage to the compressor that is NOT covered under product warranty.
Will the small tools and other elements (e.g. the Poncho or Tubeless Tire Repair Kit) that are depicted in the photos or video always have the same look and color in the kit I order?
All tools and other kit elements will have the same functionality, but the look and color may vary.
Is the kit carry-case large enough to allow me to add other emergency items that I purchase separately.
The opening of the kit carrying case is quite large—14 in. L x 9 in. W (360mm L x 230 mm W). The depth of the carrying case is 8 in (200mm). When the case is left open, there is ample room for other small tools or supplies. When closed, the amount of available space is somewhat limited, but small items can be added to the kit carrying case.
Will it be difficult to find small items in the kit carry-case?
The kit carrying case has been designed with a small mesh pocket into which you can place small items. Because you can see through the mesh, items can be stored and then found without much difficulty.
What is the purpose of the blanket that is included with kit?
The blanket will help to keep you warm in a cold weather emergency or to use as a ground barrier that keeps your clothes clean and cushion your knees if you need to kneel to make a repair.
Does the flashlight provided with the kit use an incandescent blub, or is it LED?
The flashlight uses an array of 9 LEDs powered by two (2) 1.5V AA batteries (included) and provides a bright light of about 400 lumens at 3 feet.
Will the Roadside Emergency Kit fit in the frunk and trunk of all Tesla Models?
Can I purchase elements of the Roadside Emergency Kit separately?
The Evannex Roadside Emergency Kit is purchased as a complete unit. Individual items are not for sale separately.
