This week, research group DLG Intelligence*, reported that Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk ranked #1 as the most sought-after luxury leader.
The study, conducted by DLG Intelligence, a division of Geneva-based marketing services company Digital Luxury Group, ranks over 500 luxury brands’ and groups’ Chief Executive Officers, Chairmen, Directors and Divisional Heads. Tesla Motors' CEO outpaced esteemed luxury names including those in charge of Prada, Ferrari, LVMH, BMW, Burberry, and Tiffany & Co. The study was conducted over a data period from January - December 2014 and included over 8.5 million searches on Google and Baidu.
According to DLG's report, "Elon Musk is the top luxury CEO... [at] 43 years old, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, is the most searched luxury leader. The serial entrepreneur, who is also CTO of SpaceX and Chairman of SolarCity, generates a lot of attention for his disruptive vision... consumer interest for the [Tesla] brand has increased rapidly over the past year. The rise in interest for Mr. Musk has been even more rapid than interest for Tesla."
