Get one step closer to being Elon Musk with these custom Tesla Nikes

With just about every celeb and influencer showing off their electric car as the ultimate must-have accessory, Tesla has unintentionally created one of the world's coolest brands. It was only a matter of time before we started seeing the Tesla brand hitting the streetwear scene.

And it's not just about the cars — branded gadgets and apparel play a key role as well. In fact, many of Elon Musk's companies have come up with some pretty cool limited-edition products. Whether it be flamethrowers, surfboards, short shorts, or stuffed dinosaurs, Elon Musk’s unique merchandise usually sells out pretty quickly.

During last year's highly-anticipated unveiling, the Model Y was not the only product getting attention. The Tesla CEO took to the stage wearing a one-of-a-kind statement. Musk's custom, limited-edition Tesla kicks quickly flooded social media — especially amongst the sneakerhead set and Tesla superfans.

It turns out the shoes are actually not made by Tesla themselves. They're made by custom shoe manufacturer, DeMarco Footwear. Like Tesla, the small business does all of their manufacturing in the U.S. The company is run by a father-son duo, Marco Sr. and Marco Jr Acosta, with a passion for customization. Rather than outsource and speed up production, all of their shoes are handmade.

So how exactly did Elon Musk get a hold of those custom Tesla shoes? According to Marco Jr Acosta, the shoes were commissioned by a “close friend” of Musk’s and a Tesla investor. Lucky for you, DeMarco Footwear decided to offer more pairs for sale to the public.
