If you’re like most Tesla Model 3 or Model Y owners, you or someone else (i.e. a valet) may use the Tesla key card when driving your Model 3 or Model Y. You may have noticed that when you use the card, it can and often does slide off the cupholder area and winds up on the floor or between the console and the seats. To solve this small issue, EVANNEX has developed a simple and elegant solution that we call CardRails™. CardRails™ attaches unobtrusively and directly to the center console deck near the cupholder right where the key card must be placed. CardRails™ stops the card from sliding during cornering or acceleration. It’s also a great place to put the card when using valet parking.

In addition, CardRails™ saves you the trouble of having to explain where to place the card. Now, you’ll simply say, “Put the card inside the CardRails™,” and point.

CardRails™ is fabricated from laser-cut gloss black acrylic to match the OEM gloss black trim finish of the Tesla Model 3 center console. It attaches in less than a minute using pre-applied double-sided tape and requires no tools.

The shape of CardRails™ makes it easy to grab and remove your Tesla key card and in addition, properly align it for use.

Specification

CardRails™ is a one-piece Tesla Model 3 and Model Y center console accessory fabricated from laser-cut, gloss black acrylic plastic. It is 3.9 inches wide and 3.3 inches long (99 mm W x 84 mm L) and is 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) in height.

The front profile of CardRails™ has been cut to mirror the rear profile of the center console cupholder, maintaining the design language and visual aesthetic of the center console deck.

CardRails™ attaches using double sided tape. No other tools are required. Because it aligns with the rear of the cupholder, accurate attachment is simple and quick.

FAQ

Has CardRails™ been designed specifically for the Tesla Key card?

Yes. CardRails™ dimensions conform to those of the key card and blend with the specific geometry of the cupholder area where the card must be placed.

Can’t I just toss my Tesla key card into the cupholder?

No. The key card must be placed on the top surface of the center console directly behind the cupholders. Because the center console itself does not have rails that will stop the key card from sliding, the card can, and often does, slide off the center console deck and winds up on the floor or between the center console and the driver or passenger seat.

Why isn’t CardRails™ a simple rectangle, rather than the shape you designed?

At EVANNEX, we always try to maintain the interior design language of the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y when we design products. We decided that the CardRails™ shape blends nicely with the cupholder area, making CardRails™ unobtrusive. That was our goal. In addition, the shape allows for easy placement and extraction of the key card.

Is CardRails™ easy to install?

Yes. Simply remove the covering of the double sided adhesive tape, align the front CardRails™ edge with the cupholder boundary and press down. CardRails™ is installed.

Will CardRails™ interfere with the opening/closing of the rear storage box lid that also serves as an armrest?

No. The armrest/storage lid opens and closed normally.

Can CardRails™ be used if I have used vinyl wrap to cover the center console in another finish?

Yes. Although we haven’t tested CardRails™ on every brand of vinyl wrap, the adhesives we use will adhere to most quality wraps.

Is CardRails™ made in the USA?

Yes. We manufacture CardRails™ at the EVANNEX production facility.

How long does it take to ship CardRails™?

The EVANNEX CardRails™ usually ships within 24 business hours of receipt of order. Delivery time depends on your location relative to South Florida and is typically within three (3) days for the continental U.S.

Is CardRails™ available for Model 3 and Model Y owners outside of U.S. and Canada?

Yes. This product is available for all international destinations.
