EVANNEX presents our Blade carbon fiber spoiler designed exclusively for the Tesla Model S. It's available in either a gloss or matte finish. Following the lines and curvature of the trunk hatch, the Blade spoiler has a sleek, sexy profile that gives your Model S an added performance aesthetic and stylish edge. Lightweight and extremely strong, the Blade spoiler provides a distinctive aero modification that will differentiate your Tesla Model S from others on the road.
Please note: Photos in gallery showcase the Blade carbon fiber spoiler in a gloss finish.
Blade is constructed with a fiberglass core that is covered with real 3K 2x2 twill carbon fiber with either a gloss or matte finish. The overall curve of the Blade spoiler matches the rear edge curve of the Tesla Model S trunk hatch door. Centered on the rear Tesla “T” badging, Blade spans almost the entire trunk hatch width, complementing the longitudinal accent features on both sides of the trunk hatch. The Blade spoiler dimensions are shown in the Figure below:
The Blade spoiler is 45.25 in. (1150 mm) from tip-to-tip with an overall arch height of 10.0 in. (254 mm). The nominal center width of the spoiler is 3.0 in. (77 mm). The vertical height above a horizontal plane (i.e., the height of the spoiler when lying flat) is 0.6 in (15 mm).
The adhesive used to attach the spoiler to the trunk hatch surface is a high-strength automotive double-sided adhesive tape. The tape uses an acrylic foam which is viscoelastic in nature, giving the tape energy absorbing and stress relaxing characteristics. The tape provides strong tensile and shear strength. The tape is pre-applied to the underside of the spoiler in a pattern that is most appropriate for strong adhesion.
The Blade carbon fiber spider is available in either a gloss or matte finish, see images below in varying angles/distances for reference...
Are tools or screws required to install the Blade spoiler?
No tools or screws are required. The spoiler is attached to the trunk hatch surface using high strength automotive adhesive
Is the Blade spoiler difficult to install?
Although care must be taken when planning the installation, the steps required are relatively straightforward. Complete installation instructions are provided, along with an installation video, available at Evannex.com.
Is the Blade spoiler compatible with all years and configurations (Including the Refresh) of the Model S?
Yes, the Blade spoiler is compatible with all Model S.
I’m just not a DIYer. What should I do?
If you’re the least bit uncomfortable with the Blade spoiler installation, you can bring the spoiler to a professional installer who can install the spoiler in less than 30 minutes.
Will the spoiler impact the aerodynamics, range, or handling of my Tesla Model S?
Generally, a spoiler is an automotive aerodynamic device whose intended design function is to 'spoil' unfavorable air movement across a body of a vehicle in motion, usually described as turbulence or drag. Spoilers are often fitted to race and high-performance sports cars, and aftermarket spoilers are generally added to cars primarily for styling purposes and have little aerodynamic benefit. Note: we haven't conducted aerodynamic studies on the Blade spoiler to assess the impact of the spoiler on these characteristics, but, it's likely that the spoiler will have only a minimal impact on range, aero, and handling - certainly less than 1 to 2 percent, if any.
Will the adhesive used to attach that spoiler be strong enough to stand up to air pressure during high speed driving?
The automotive adhesive is very strong. Your spoiler will remain attached at high speed.
Is it possible to remove the spoiler once it has been attached and will there be any permanent damage to the car surface?
It is possible to remove the spoiler. Simply acquire a fine fishing line, cut about a 20 inch length and slip the line under the tip of the spoiler between the carbon fiber and that car’s surface. Using a sawing action, break the adhesive bond as you move across the entire length of the spoiler. There will be adhesive resident that remains. Most of it can be removed with your finger, and what remains can be removed using acetone or another cleaner.
How is your spoiler different than the factory spoiler from Tesla?
Both spoilers are carbon fiber and have a somewhat similar profile. However, our carbon fiber Blade spoiler is also offered with a gloss finish in addition to the matte finish found on the factory spoiler. In addition, our Blade spoiler is offered at a lower price point than the factory spoiler.
Can the EVANNEX Car Cover be used with the spoiler installed?
Yes. The EVANNEX car cover will fit with no problem.
Does EVANNEX sell other exterior carbon fiber accents that would further complement the Blade spoiler?
Yes. We offer a variety of additional carbon fiber accents for the Model S exterior. Among the most popular are carbon fiber B-pillar accents, door handle appliques, mirror covers, etc.
Are there any special conditions associated with returning the spoiler?
The Blade spoiler may be returned at your own cost using the packaging and box that it was shipped in. Once we receive and inspect it, you will receive a full refund. However, the spoiler may NOT be returned if you remove the red backing on the double-sided adhesive. Once the backing is removed, the spoiler cannot be resold or reused. So before you attach the spoiler permanently, place it on the trunk hatch to assess the look. Do not remove the red adhesive backing until you decide to keep the spoiler.
How long is your shipping timeframe?
For U.S. orders, we target shipment of the Blade spoiler in 1 - 3 weeks.
Does the Blade spoiler ship to international destinations?
Yes! We ship daily to locations worldwide via FedEx International. Please allow extra time for international shipments. For more on international shipping, visit our "Shipping and Fulfillment" page.
"An easy DIY project you'll be proud of when you want to add an understated, but sporty and elegant enhancement for your Model S. Others are higher profile and cost more, but Evannex hit the mark with their Blade Spoiler, not just for more traditional darker colored MS, but Pearl White MC as well!" - Bert Leithold, Carlsbad, CA
"Had the approved body shop of Tesla do the installation and they claimed it's an excellent product that you produced. Very difficult to note the variation even when you have the oem product side by side. Thanks for your excellent pricing, quality and integrity as the product came much quicker than promised." - Joel Matlin, Toronto, Canada
"The EVANNEX Blade Spoiler adds an amazing pop of class to the car and does so at a much more approachable price point... and with quality that is nearly indistinguishable from OEM. The addition of a carbon fiber spoiler to the Model S stands out in contrast with the smooth lines and uniform color of the car, with a flash of glossy carbon fiber. It takes the rear of the car from smooth to standout with a bold new line that cuts away from the car, often inciting a double take to catch the extra pop of flair."
