Unusual images of the Tesla Model 3

With Tesla Motors [NASDAQ: TSLA] causing such a stir in the automotive industry with the recent launch of the Model 3, it appears many would-be car designers are already trying to reimagine the car. Some are taking the existing design and adding their own unique "remix" with body kits, new wheels, and other aero modifications. And others are designing concept renderings of a different Model 3 vehicle class altogether. So... let's take a look at some of these unusual Model 3 designs that have been floating around the web.

While the renderings above simply modify the existing Tesla Model 3 design, Motor Chase* asks an intriguing question: "what if there were different body types to choose from? What it the Model 3 gives birth to an entire car family?" They note that, "In Nordic countries, such as Sweden and Norway, station wagons are hugely popular. And a Model 3 station wagon would sell like hot cakes there, in regular or in Cross Country style, such as the ones designed by X-Tomi Design... [or] you could buy the Model 3 Coupé, as pictured by X-Tomi Design. A 3-door hatchback has not emerged so far, but it would also rock, for sure."

Another possibility? Perhaps, "A hatchback would fit you nicely. And this is what Theophilus Chin has created in the images below."

These ideas might not be so outrageous after all. Electrek reports that Tesla Vice-President of Business Development Diarmuid O’Connell was in Amsterdam this past week and, "he said that Tesla plans to expand its lineup following the Model 3. He emphasized the Tesla pickup truck that’s been talked about before by CEO Elon Musk." So... what about a Tesla Model 3 truck design? Check this out...

In addition, remember what Elon Musk tweeted before the official Model 3 unveil, he noted that: "Tomorrow is Part 1 of the Model 3 unveil. Part 2, which takes things to another level, will be closer to production." Then, he later tweeted, "Wait until you see the real steering controls and system for the 3. It feels like a spaceship." And to make matters even more curious, he closed his recent tweet storm with: "Thanks for tuning in to the Model 3 unveil Part 1! Part 2 is super next level, but that's for later…" So, although we have some wild exterior interpretations of a would-be Model 3, perhaps the really big question is: what will the interior look like? Hmmm... we'll have to tackle that question in another post.
