We've written about celebrities who love their Tesla Model S in the past, but, it looks like we've seen a recent influx in both famous endorsements of (and owners of) Tesla vehicles. Earlier in January, it was reported* that supermodel Chrissy Teigen and Grammy award winning music star John Legend packed up their "Tesla with some of their belongings as he opened up the trunk to reveal a few boxes" before the celebrity couple sped away in their Model S together.

And, Gas 2 reported today that the famous Bill Nye (a.k.a. 'The Science Guy') wants NASCAR to go fully electric: "NASCAR could help get us there. We could convert all of our race cars to electricity — right now — and show the public exactly what electrons can do.” And when interviewed (see video below) by Rolling Stone, Bill Nye, who drives an all-electric Nissan Leaf, claims that James Bond should really get a Tesla, as the current Aston Martin sports cars used in most recent Bond films "cannot touch a Tesla! Tesla outperforms them." Check out Nye showing his support for Tesla and driving electric...
And, yet another music star and famed rap artist, Akon, was recently promoting solar power and sustainability in Africa and Clean Technica reported that, "Akon does own a Tesla… er, four of them. He even has the Model X already (two of them), and noted that he was one of the first people to put down a deposit for the Model X years ago. I could clearly see the excitement in his eyes as he talked about his Teslas. As you can see if you watch the video interview [7 minutes 37 seconds into the video], he even noted that he sold his Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc., because they don’t compare to Teslas. He used to have 28 cars, and now just has 4 Teslas."

And, just a few weeks back, judging by a photo from actress Amanda Seyfried’s Instagram account (she's appeared in Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, Veronica Mars, Ted 2, etc.), it looks like the budding star has taken recent delivery of a Tesla Model X and her passenger(s) seem to be loving it...
In any event, it's great to see such high-profile folks showing their support for Tesla Motors. It helps to enlighten more of those who may be unfamiliar with the brand (and the merits of driving electric) when these "big names" get behind the mission of Tesla. Now, if only we could get a Tesla Model S into the next James Bond movie...
