Elon Musk's Mother Maye Musk Spoke at the 2023 Tesla Takeover

Last weekend, thousands of Tesla and electric vehicle owners gathered at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, California. The occasion, an annual Tesla Takeover event, notably included a special appearance from Maye Musk, Elon Musk's mother.

Maye Musk was the featured guest of the 2023 Tesla Takeover, as was shared on Tesla Owners Silicon Valley's Twitter account and a number of others. The event, which was hosted by Tesla Owners Silicon Valley, ran from Saturday, July 29 to Sunday, July 30, and it also included prominent influencers of the Tesla social media community including a number of YouTubers and TikTokers. Maye was the event's keynote speaker, and several attendees got the chance to meet her in person.

“Thank you Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley for inviting me for the Tesla Takeover," Maye wrote after attending the event. "I’ve had a fabulous day, and very excited for everything that you do.”

Maye is not only known for being the mother of successful entrepreneur Elon Musk, but she also has a hefty set of her own achievements. She herself is an accomplished model, a world-renowned dietician, an entrepreneur and the author of a best-selling book. Maye wrote the book “A Woman Makes A Plan,” which has garnered widespread acclaim as she tells the story of her struggle raising kids who went on to bring significant change to the world that we live in today.

At this year’s Tesla Takeover, Maye talked about her venturesome life, from building a career in multiple disciplines to simultaneously raising such successful children.

Maye met with many Tesla Takeover attendees and personally signed her books that some fans brought to the event. Her down-to-Earth nature would never have onlookers know that she’s the mother of the world’s richest person.

Interestingly, one other prominent personality within the Tesla Community visited the Tesla Takeover: vehicle teardown titan, Sandy Munro. Munro is considered a legend within the Tesla community, especially considering his vast experience in the automotive industry. At several points in time, Tesla has even consulted Munro to help solve certain engineering problems.

In a one-on-one meeting with Maye, Munro expressed how amazed he was to get to meet her. Maye reciprocated the honors, saying that she loves everything that Sandy does for the automotive engineering community — and for Tesla fans.

All in all, Tesla fans, enthusiasts, owners, and special guests — like Maye and Sandy — reported having a great time at the 2023 Tesla Takeover. Events like these help Tesla fans serve the company's mission of sustainable transport, rallying together to help the EV revolution shift into the next gear.
