Ford Power Promise: Boosting Confidence for EV Drivers

Ford Power Promise: Boosting Confidence for EV Drivers

Electric vehicle sales are on the rise, but many people are still hesitant to make the switch. Ford is aiming to change that by sweetening the deal for anyone on the fence about going electric.

Starting October 1st, Ford is rolling out a new initiative called the Ford Power Promise, which offers some exciting benefits for anyone buying or leasing a new Ford EV. The biggest perk? A free home charger and complimentary installation for all new EV customers. This isn’t just any charger either—Ford is giving away the Ford Charge Station Pro, which is worth $1,310.

The home charger is a Level 2 charger and comes with a standard CCS1 connector. While Ford will cover the costs for standard installations (up to 60 amps of power and 80 feet of wire), customers may need to pay for additional electrical upgrades if required. If you already have a home charger installed, Ford will give you a cash equivalent of $2,000 instead.

Why Ford’s Doing This

Ford wants to make the EV switch as easy as possible, especially for customers who are still unsure. Many people are concerned about things like range, battery life, and the cost of owning an electric vehicle. Ford's research, along with Boston Consulting Group, shows that it’s not just range anxiety that holds people back—it’s more about change anxiety. People are worried about adjusting to something new.

Making Charging Convenient

Ford is working hard to help customers see that charging at home is more convenient than they think. A lot of people assume they’ll need to rely on public chargers all the time, but in reality, home charging can cover most of their daily needs and save them money in the long run. Ford’s new initiative makes this even easier by taking care of the charger and installation for you.

When it comes to public charging, Ford is also ramping up access. Through its BlueOval Charging Network, Ford EV owners can charge across multiple third-party networks, including Tesla’s Supercharger network. Ford has been working fast to provide Tesla adapters to its EV customers, so they can use these popular charging stations without any hassle.

More Than Just a Free Charger

The Ford Power Promise is about more than just a home charger. Ford is also offering 24/7 call and text support for all EV owners, so you can get help whenever you need it. And in case you missed it, Ford provides an 8-year, 100,000-mile battery warranty on every EV, giving customers extra peace of mind.

With these benefits, Ford is making the switch to electric smoother and more convenient than ever. Whether you’re worried about charging or want reassurance about battery life, the Ford Power Promise is here to help.
