Signature Edition Tesla Model S and X spotted outside the Fremont factory

The last-ever Tesla Model S and Model X electric cars are on their way to a limited number of customers soon.

At first, Tesla (TSLA) planned to hold the Signature Edition Delivery Event on May 12. However, because Elon Musk went to China with President Trumpthe automaker rescheduled the event to May 20 (the day after Starship’s 12th flight test).

Before Tesla could reveal the limited-edition Model S and X Signature vehicles at the event, a Tesla enthusiast spotted them outside the company’s huge manufacturing facility in Fremont, California.

Tesla has painted the Signature Edition Model S and X in a special Garnet Red color. The pictures shared by the Tesla owner reveal Garnet Red’s real-world look and feel in the daytime.

Only 250 Model S and 250 Model X Signature Edition vehicles are produced. All the 500 Model S/X Signature cars are already sold out.

Owners of these cars are restricted from selling them for one year. If they do sell the vehicle to a third party, a $50,000 fine is going to be enforced on them.

Signature Edition Tesla Model S and Model X are basically the Plaid variant with some extra perks and features. Interestingly, Tesla only allowed a single person to own either a Model S or Model X Signature. The automaker didn’t allow anyone to have both of these cars at the same time.

The dark and deep shades of the Garnet Red color do look great in the daylight, as we can see in the pictures above and below. In the dark, it would look even deeper and tilt towards black.

Tesla’s Fremont factory remained the only car manufacturing plant that produced the Model S and X EVs throughout their lifecycle.

At the upcoming event on Wednesday, Tesla is not just going to hand over a few Model S/X Signature cars; the company’s CEO, Elon Musk, is going to celebrate a farewell with the owners and the enthusiast community. He will also remember and share his memories of the 14-year legacy of these iconic EVs.
