Tesla finally launches FSD v14 in Australia

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) has finally given its Aussie customers what they most wanted: an FSD v14 update.

The tech & AI-based automaker started rolling out FSD v14.3.3 to Australian Tesla cars yesterday. The firmware version of this update is 2026.16.6.

The firmware version of the same FSD v14.3.3 in North America is 2026.14.6.6. The difference in firmware versions is due to the difference in the side of the road the vehicles are driven on. Like the UK, Australia also drives on the left-hand side of the road, and cars have steering wheels on the right-hand side.

Australian Tesla customers have expressed joy at getting the much-awaited Tesla FSD update. The latest update in North America is FSD v14.3.4. However, Australians have got the slightly older point release version, i.e., FSD v14.3.3. Tesla will deploy newer versions as data is validated for safety and as video reports start coming from the land of the kangaroos.

Tesla has also rolled out other delayed features like the Start Self-Driving UI improvement, Brake Confirm, Arrival Options, and Speed Profiles in the 2026.16.6 update (see official release notes).

FSD v14.3.3 (2026.16.6) Rollout Status in Australia

Considering the Australian population of just 28 million people, Tesla has a large fleet of 150,000 cars sold in the country. Just last month (May 2026), the Model Y electric SUV became Australia’s best-selling car of any kind, and the first-ever EV to hold this position.

However, on Tesla software rollout websites like TeslaFi.com, Tessie, and TeslaScope, the data coming out of Australia is very limited. At the time of this writing, the 2026.16.6 (FSD v14.3.3) update is merely 24 hours old.

The rollout data suggests that a small number of users have received this new update as of now. However, as Tesla gains confidence in FSD performance on Australian roads, the circle of FSD v14 users will increase gradually.

Currently, the FSD v14.3.3 (2026.16.6) update has been rolled out to 0.1% of Tesla’s global fleet.

It’s worth remembering that FSD v14 and its subversion point releases are currently only available for Hardware 4 (HW4/AI4) vehicles. HW3 Tesla vehicles currently cannot run this advanced self-driving AI software.

Tesla FSD is available in Australia for AUD 150/month. Interested Tesla owners are buying the monthly subscription out of curiosity to test the system. A Tesla owner wrote on X:

Until today, I held off on the $149/month FSD subscription here in Australia. But the v14.3.3 (2026.16.6) rollout that just hit local might change my mind. This is not a simple software patch.
