Description
Charging at home is the most desirable option for almost all EV owners. The WallBox Pulsar Plus Class 2 smart wall charger allows you to charge any electric vehicle (EV) using a 240V circuit in your garage or near your parking space. The myWallbox app allows you to control your charger from your smart devices via WiFi or Bluetooth. Unlike ‘dumb’ chargers, the Pulsar Plus has “onboard intelligence” meaning smart functions (including scheduled charging and locking/unlocking) are managed in the charger, not the cloud, letting you access and control your charger even when you can't connect to the Internet. Pulsar Plus also works with Alexa and Google Home voice commands, making charging a seamless addition to your smart home system. NEMA Type 4 rated for watertightness and dust resistance, Pulsar Plus is suitable for indoor and outdoor installation.
Power sharing
If you own two or more EVs, Pulsar Plus supports power sharing from the same 40 Amp circuit. Built-in load balancing allows you to charge multiple EVs at once by distributing power across connected chargers. In addition, Pulsar Plus can be plugged into an existing NEMA 14-50 outlet or hardwired by an electrician into any 240V circuit with sufficient amperage. Its 25 foot cable (the maximum length allowed for safety) will enable you to reach your EV charging port with no problem.
The myWallbox App
The WallBox app (downloadable via the iphone or Android app store) allows you to connect and control your Pulsar Plus charger from anywhere. The features provided include:
• Manage charging and monitor the status of your EV remotely • Set and change charging schedules • Lock and unlock charger remotely • Manage multiple users and multiple chargers • Generate real-time charging statistics including charging data, graphs and charts • Get real-time notifications including status of charging

Unless your EV has an on-board charger, it does require a wall charger. Currently, the only EVs with on-board charging capabilities are Teslas.
Why can’t I just plug my EV into a standard 110V circuit?
There are a number of reasons, but the most important is that 110V charging is notoriously slow and inefficient. To charge a modern EV at a reasonable rate, you do need a 240V circuit and a class 2 charger. The WallBox Pulsar Plus is a 240V class 2 charger that provides a degree of intelligence and connectivity that is essential for good charging.
Why shouldn’t I just purchase an inexpensive charger on-line?
“Inexpensive” chargers are “dumb” chargers. They will work, but today, the best EV chargers exhibit a degree of “intelligence” that makes them easier to use, more adaptable to a variety of situations, amenable to remote communication and control, and more easily integrated into your home network. The Wallbox Pulsar Plus is a smart charger, allowing all those capabilities along with a variety of added features that you’ll sorely miss if you opt for a “dumb” charger.
Will the J1772 charging cable work with my EV?
SAE J1772 is a universal charging standard and should work with your EV. If your brand uses a different charging plug, it’s very likely that the manufacturer will provide an adapter for J1772. However, we recommend checking the specs for your EV to verify the charging cable protocol required.
How long will it take to charge my EV using the Pulsar Plus charger?
That depends on the size of your battery, what percent of charge remains when you begin charging, whether you’re power sharing with another EV, and a variety of other factors. In general, for a 240V-40A circuit, your EV will charge at a rate of 24 to 30 miles of range per hour of charging, meaning it will charge to “full” overnight.
What is “power sharing?”
Power Sharing, also sometimes referred to as load balancing or levelling, allows any entity with multiple chargers onsite to distribute the available energy capacity proportionally across all active EV chargers. As available power is limited by the circuit to which chargers are attached, normally more demand for energy would mean expensive electrical infrastructure upgrades. Smart charging means power can be optimally distributed so that such upgrades can be avoided.
Do I need a licensed electrician to install the WallBox Pulsar Plus?
That depends. If you have an existing NEMA 14-50 outlet that you’ll be using for charging, all you’ll need to do is plug the WallBox Pulsar Plus into the outlet. However, if you do not currently have a 240 circuit available, you’ll need a licensed electrician to wire the circuit and then hardwire your wall box into the circuit.
How long does it take to receive my order?
Your EVANNEX product usually ships within 24 business hours of receipt of order. Delivery time depends on your location relative to South Florida and is typically within three (3) days for the continental U.S.
Does this product ship to international destinations?
The WallBox Pulsar Plus is available for shipment ONLY in North America.
Installation
If you have an existing NEMA 14-50 outlet that you’ll be using for charging, all you need to do is mount the Wallbox Pulsar Plus in the appropriate position on your wall (see Installation Instructions) and then plug it into the NEMA 14-50 wall outlet.
However, if you do not currently have a 240V-40A circuit or outlet available, you’ll need a licensed electrician to wire the circuit and then hardwire your Wallbox Pulsar Plus into the circuit.
The following downloadable Instructions are intended for use by a licensed electrician and provide all information necessary for installation of the Wallbox Pulsar Plus:
