Though suitable for 98% of all-wheel and tire combinations, before installing AlloyGators we recommend that customers check the suitability of their combination on all wheels on their vehicle using the suitability gauge found within the box.

AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protectors are not recommended for diamond cut or machine-polished alloy wheels. Although installing the product will offer protection against damage, due to possible imperfections in the lacquered wheel surface, AlloyGators can increase the risk of moisture corrosion. However, providing there is no minute damage to the wheel surface, installing AlloyGator Wheel Protectors will not accelerate damage on its own. AlloyGator Limited accepts no liability if the product is installed and such damage occurs.

AlloyGators are not suitable for vehicles weighing over 5500lbs, this includes vehicles weighing less than 5500lbs, but carrying luggage or passenger weight that causes the overall vehicle weight to exceed 5500lbs.

Instructions

INSTALLATION TIME / REQUIRED MATERIALS

Installation time for Rim Protection varies based on wheel design, wheel size and experience level of the person doing the work. We always recommend professional installation which may take around an hour per vehicle. A first time do-it-yourself installation takes around 2 hours for a set of four wheels.

Required Tools

• Dead blow hammer
• Cutters
• Pry Bar
• Thick viscosity glue which is included in the kit
• Floor jack or jack stands
• Air compressor

ALLOYGATORS ARE COMING AWAY FROM THE RIM

There are two reasons why the AllloyGator wheel rim protection is walking away. A driver error: You impacted, rubbed the gator against the curve and it has pulled them away from the rim slightly or the was an installation error which means the AlloyGator rim protections weren't installed properly or the where installed on a wheel and tire they shouldn't go on.

AlloyGator Wheel Protectors can be fitted to wheels that have between 12 and 24-inch wheel diameters. Can I install AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection if I already have some damage on my rims?

If the curb rash or scuffing on your alloy wheel is not too severe and does not extend around a major part of your wheel rim, you can install and use AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection.

This product actually work great for vehicles that would like to hide small curb rash on the rims.

Can i use any cleaning agent?

No. Cleaning agents containing acid may discolor the Alloy Gator and should be avoided. If not sure what cleaning agent to use you can always use a mixture of water and soap.

How well do I have to wash my wheels before installing AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection?

A regular car wash or warm water and detergent are the best start to preparing your wheels for installing AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection. DO NOT use any wax or shine products on your wheels or tires before installing AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection. Shine and polish products leave residues on the wheel surface and any product containing silicone oil should NOT be used prior to installation of AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection. Shine and polish products may be applied AFTER installing AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection.

Are there any limitations on the kind of car wash I should use?

We recommend that you DO NOT use a car wash that uses wheel/tire guide rails (sometimes called a "conveyor wash"). The rails are often used in older car washes that “pull” your vehicle through a number of washing stations. The rails can rub against the AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection, loosening or damaging them. We do recommend car washes in which the car remains stationary and the cleaning “robot” moves around the vehicle.

 Is it difficult to remove AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection from my wheels?

AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection can be removed after installation. If you have a flat tire or need tire replacements we do recommend you take your vehicle to a professional installer. Watch video bellow to follow the appropriate methods to remove and re-install AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection. 

Where can I get AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection installed if I don't want to do it myself?

We do recommend Professional installation. Automotive accessory shops which do window tinting, paint protection films and vehicle graphics are the most skilled in making sure wheel surfaces are properly cleaned for AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection. Service staff in these shops can easily follow the installation instructions.

Can AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection come off my wheels while driving?

Properly installed, securely fastened, undamaged AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection does not come off under normal driving conditions. However, they are a wear item on your car. According to manufacturers they recommended that you do a walk around your vehicle a minimum of once a week to inspect your car and make sure everything is ok. This will help you know if AlloyGators Wheel Rim Protection is properly attached or is coming away from the rim. 

Will changing tires damage my AlloyGators™?

No. They wont get damage if properly removed. Check Video bellow for removal instructions.
