The Lamin-X Paint Protection Kit and Headlight covers are designed and manufactured specifically for the Audi e-tron. Cut to the shape of the body panel to be protected, each component is fabricated from 8 mil thick (.008") poly-urethane protective film. Complete installation instructions are provided along with the appropriate tools you'll need to get the installation job done properly.

FAQ

Why do I need a Paint Protection Kit?

Stated simply, to protect the exterior of your car from road debris, eliminating or reducing paint chips and scrapes. It's important to note our PPF kit allows you to protect the look of your car at a relatively low cost. If at some point in the future you want to go remove the protective film, it is easy to remove with no damage to the OEM surfaces.

Wouldn't it be better to have the Paint Protection done at a custom shop?

That is an option, but the cost of a professionally installed Paint Protection package would be considerably more expensive. Doing it yourself represents substantial savings.

Why can't I just use a generic Paint Protection kit?

A generic "Paint Protection Kit" is brand and model-independent, meaning it's nothing more than thin strips of film that have NOT been cut to the specific shapes and thicknesses for the e-tron. That makes it very difficult and time-consuming to install. Every piece in the EVANNEX Paint Protection Kit has been custom-cut for the Audi e-tron, enhancing your ability to do a straightforward installation in a reasonable amount of time. Our Paint Protection Kit, unlike generic kits, is made from high-quality film and will withstand harsh environmental conditions for many years.

Are these kits difficult to install?

They can be. Patience and a steady hand are required. Small alignment mistakes can lead to a less than perfect result. For this reason, we recommend professional installation if you have reservations about your DIY skills. We do provide detailed installation instructions and video (see our "Installation" tab).

Are special tools required?

The tools typically needed are squeegees for smoothing and finishing (included); a retractable utility knife with a 9mm wide blade (included); a spray bottle (Included) containing a water/alcohol mix to ensure proper cleaning and surface preparation (critically important); a hair drier (not included) to help remove any wrinkles and make the film more pliable; and sharp scissors (not included).

Are these films legal in my state?

Clear film is legal in all jurisdictions. However, tinted films may not be legal for street use on a vehicle's primary lighting, and, as such, are sold with an off-road use disclosure. Please be sure check your state or local laws before installation.

Do the Paint Protection Kit components provide a perfect fit for the OEM surfaces?

Each Paint Protection Kit component fits the surface curvature and perimeter shape for which it was designed and fabricated. However, alignment varies with each installation and there may be tiny variances in fit. In general, these variances will be a half-millimeter or less. For most owners, any variance which might occur will not be noticeable.

Do you provide instructions for applying the Paint Protection Kit?

Detailed installation videos (see "Installation" tab) are available to guide you through the process.

Is surface prep complicated?

Not at all, but it does require care. The surface should be cleaned with a solution consisting of 3 drops of baby shampoo, 1 cap full of 70% rubbing alcohol, Fill the rest with distilled water applied using a 16 oz spray bottle. Then wipe away using a lint-free cloth or paper towel. The objective is to remove all dust, dirt, and greasy residue before vinyl installation commences. You will also use this solution during installation.

Can I remove the film at anytime?

Absolutely. the film can be removed at any time.

What is the projected life of the Paint Protection Kit?

Exterior film should have a useful life of between 5 and 7 years with proper care.

Will the paint protection film fade with time?

In general, the film is impervious to sun damage and will not fade or otherwise discolor.

Can the film be scratched or otherwise damaged during regular use?

In general, the film is remarkably strong and resilient. However, damage can occur but is not common. Most smalls scrapes will heal over time.

If I decide to remove the film after some period of time, can I reinstall it again at a later date?

No. Once the film has set on the surface (requiring about 24 hours), its adhesion becomes stronger and more permanent. It can still be removed without difficulty, but removal will stretch and potentially tear the vinyl. It cannot be reused.

What is your return policy for the vinyl kits?

Due to the custom cut to order nature of this kit, we can not accept returns unless the kit arrives defective. 

How long does it take to ship my order?

The Paint Protection Kit usually ships within 4-7 business days of receipt of order. 

Does the Paint Protection kits ship to international destinations?

Yes, the Paint Protection kits ship internationally.

Installation

Even though it looks easy, installation of the EVANNEX Paint Protection Kit can be a challenging DIY project. Small errors in alignment, an inadvertent tear, stretching, or wrinkles which are challenging to remove can occur in some instances. If you're not a DIYer, we strongly recommend you get a professional to do the installation work. We don't want you to be frustrated or disappointed if you decided to try this on your own.
