Description
What do you do if you’re traveling and you don’t have access to a Tesla supercharger? You might find yourself at your relative’s house plugging into their clothes dryer or A/C outlet. You might also end up at an RV park looking for a 30 amp power source to get your Tesla charged. In order to do this, you’ll need one of our Tesla charging adapters. But that’s only half the battle. What if you’re more than 20 feet away from the power source? Well, then you’ll need our Tesla charging extension cord. Our 30-foot charging extension cable fits perfectly into your Tesla charging cable and allows you to charge your Tesla up to 50 feet away - our new 50-foot cable allows distances up to 70 feet! Don’t get stranded out in the middle of nowhere. Our charging accessories can be very helpful for any Tesla owner — especially on road trips. The Tesla extension cord and the Tesla charging adapters are made with UL-certified components so you know they can be trusted.
Note: Charging Extension Cord has been designed for North American electrical outlets. It will not work in any other international location.
Extension Cord
Description
Our 50-foot charging cable extension integrates seamlessly with your Tesla charging cable. When connected to your standard Tesla charging cable, the extension cord allows you to reach power sources that are up to 70 feet from your vehicle.
The Ergo Grip Handle is designed to provide a firm grip for unplugging heavy power cords easier. The built-in LED indicator illuminates when the power is activated to easily test the connection.
For example, after a 120-mile trip to visit a relative, you must charge your Tesla. The only workable power source is a clothes dryer or AC outlet (240V, 30amp) that is in a 'mud' room off the garage, about 50 feet from your vehicle. Using your Tesla charging cable and our extension (along with a clothes dryer adapter), you'll be able to reach the outlet and charge your vehicle.
Charging Adapters
Description
The Dryer Adapter plugs directly into a NEMA 10-30P outlet (commonly used for clothes driers). The A/C adapter plugs directly into a NEMA 6-30P outlet (commonly used for large window A/C units and some other commercial equipment). The RV Power adapter plugs directly into the RV site NEMA TT-30P outlet (receptacle). You then plug your Tesla charging cable with its NEMA 14-50 plug into the NEMA 14-50 end of the adapter and you have access to the amps you’ll need to charge your car.

Specifications
Extension Charging Cord
The extension cord is constructed from UL-approved components and incorporates a NEMA 14-50 male connector (plug) and NEMA-14-50 female connector (receptacle). The NEMA 14-50 plug-end of the extension can accommodate appropriate charging adapters. The extension cord itself is constructed from 4-wire #6 UL rated electrical cable thereby reducing power loss over its length. The extension cable weights approximately 25 lbs for the 30 foot cable and 40 lbs for the 50 foot cable.
It is 1-inch and 25mm in diameter.
The Ergo Grip Handle is designed to provide a firm grip for unplugging heavy power cords easier.
The built-in LED indicator illuminates when the power is activated to easily test the connection.
Charging Adapters
All charging adapters have been designed for North American electrical outlets. They will not work in any other international location and should not be ordered if your Tesla vehicle resides in an international location. All charging cable adapters are made from UL approved components and are designed to fit the following receptacle types:
Clothes Dryer (two variants): NEMA 14-50 to NEMA 10-30 (pigtail); NEMA 14-50 to NEMA 14-30P (pigtail)
240V A/C: NEMA 14-50 to NEMA 6-30 (pigtail)
RV Power: NEMA 14-50 to NEMA TT-30P (pigtail)
The "pigtail" design of the adapter allows it to be used in tight places where a standard plug adapter might be problematic.

FAQ
How do the 30-foot and 50-foot extension cords work?
The extension cord has NEMA 14-50 male plug and female receptacle. You plug the male plug of your Tesla charging cable into the female receptacle of your extension cord. The male end of the extension cord then plugs into a NEMA 14-50 power cord or, if another power source is available, you use one of the available charging adapters, plug the extension cord into the adapter, and then plug the adapter into the power outlet.
How far can my vehicle be from the power source?
If you use only the Tesla standard charging cable, your vehicle must be within approximately 20 feet of the power source. If you add an extension cord to the standard Tesla charging cable, your vehicle must be approximately 50 or 70 feet or less from the charging source.
Can I use the 110 Volt adapter Tesla provided with this extension cord?
No, this extension cord will not work with Tesla provided 110 Volt adapter, you will need to purchase the 220 volt NEMA 14-50 adapter from Tesla. You can find the NEMA 14-50 adapter here.
Is it possible to chain two extension cords together to gain even more charging distance?
Yes, but as the total distance from the electrical outlet increases (i.e. as the total length of the combined cords increases), you will experience line losses that will increase charging time.
Is it possible to run into a situation where I have the right extension cord coupled to the right adapter, but charging doesn’t work?
Tesla vehicles are relatively sensitive to the quality of the power supply. If there is significant voltage variation or other anomalies, charging may not occur.
Will this extension cord (and or adapters) work in Europe or other international locations?
No. All charging adapters have been designed for North American electrical outlets. They will not work in any other international location and should not be ordered if your Tesla vehicle resides in an international location.
Can you guarantee that the adapters you offer will fit power sources at all RV parks or in all residences?
The RV and Clothes Dryer Adapters we offer are the most commonly encountered in the wild. However, there are dozens of potential outlet configurations. We cannot guarantee that the adapter will fit in a specific (and unusual) situation.
Why is a “pigtail” adapter better than a simple plug adapter?
A pigtail allows more range of motion in situations where it is difficult to plug the charging cable into a power source due to structural elements around the receptacle, a weather cover that sits over the receptacle or any other impediment that makes plug in difficult.
How do the adapters work?
Your Tesla charging cable (NEMA 14-50) plugs into the female end of the adapter (which is also NEMA 14-50). The male end of the adapter then plugs into the receptacle (outlet) type for which the adapter was designed (e.g., a Clothes Dryer adapter will be plugged into a 240 V clothes dryer outlet).
Are these adapters and extension chords UL rated?
Each of the components in all adapters and extension cords are UL rated.
Can you provide a picture of the outlet configurations that I can access if I use one or more of your adapters?
The NEMA 14-30P outlet configuration is shown below:
Can I charge my car quickly using these adapters?
Charging speed (measured as miles of range per hour of charging) is a function of the number of amps delivered to your battery by the charging circuit. If you charge from a 40 amp circuit, you’ll charge at a rate of about 27 to 30 miles of range per hour. For 30 amp circuits, such as those used for many clothes driers and A/C units, you’ll charge at a lower rate of about 18 - 20 miles of range per hour.
I often visit distant friends and relatives and charge my Tesla using their clothes dryer outlet. Depending on the outlet, I use either a NEMA 14-30P or NEMA TT-30P adapter. Is there anything special I need to know?
Charging will be somewhat slower than a direct connection to a NEMA 14-50 outlet. In addition, be sure you set your charge current to 30 amps max to preclude the possibility of tripping the circuit breaker.
How far can my vehicle be from the power source?
If you use only the Tesla standard charging cable, your vehicle must be within approximately 20 feet of the power source. If you add an extension cord (available here) to the standard Tesla charging cable, your vehicle must be approximately 50 feet or less from the charging source.
Can I use my charging adapter to power other devices besides my Tesla?
Due to the wiring requirements for Tesla charging equipment, it is unsafe and not recommended that an EV adapter be used for anything else besides with electric vehicles. Please label and store all adapters with other EV charging equipment.
How long does it take to ship Charging Extension Cord?
The EVANNEX Road Trip Charging Accessories usually ships within 1-2 weeks of receipt of order. Delivery time depends on your location and is typically within three (3) to five (5) days for the continental U.S.
